Undergraduate School and Major: Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA, Environmental Studies and Politics, 2010
Medical School: Tufts
Life/professions/adventures prior to attending medical school: Worked at the Patagonia retail store in Seattle for 2+ years, server for a catering company, worked at a climbing gym. Ski patrolled for 4 winters in Montana and Washington State
Interests / Hobbies: Unsurprisingly, rock climbing, skiing, and hiking. I also really, really like baseball, which people find funny because it’s a lot more boring than climbing and skiing.
Favorite Food: This one is hard because the only foods I legitimately don’t like are peanut butter cookies and pig intestine.
Favorite Novels: Catch-22, All the Pretty Horses.
Favorite Movie: Dr. Strangelove
Favorite Hike: Colchuck Lake, Washington State
Favorite Ski Trail: The Big Couloir on a powder day at Big Sky in Montana
Favorite Beach (doesn’t have to be in Maine): Golden Gardens Park for a summer sunset in Seattle.
Closest brush with a famous person: I was in the White House once during Obama’s presidency—he wasn’t there.
Celebrity I most resemble: My mom once told me I look like Brad Pitt.
Craziest / Best / Worst Job: Craziest: retail during the holidays. Best: Instructor at a climbing gym. Worst: legal assistant.
If I weren’t a doctor I would be: A ski bum, a geologist, or some combination of the two.
Medical Interests: Rural emergency medicine, pediatric EM.
Personal Goals: Climb Lotus Flower Tower in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Getting there involves a big plane, a small plane, and then a helicopter.
Favorite Place in Maine: Shell Pond, near Stow. And Acadia.
Why MMC: The residents and faculty I met are awesome and Portland is a great, livable city with good access to the outdoors.
