Hometown: Silverdale, Washington
Undergrad: University of Washington
Med School: University of Virginia
Before Medical School: Waited tables and worked in gear shops in Aspen and Jackson Hole in order to support my skiing habit, then moved to the other Portland to take all those pre-med classes I avoided like the plague as an undergrad.
Closest brush with a famous person: Many actually from my ski bumming days…I served Scarlett Johannson dinner but I think my favorite was trying to fit Wolf Blitzer for running shoes.
If I wasn’t a doctor I would be a: Rock musician (in my dreams) or an instructor for something outdoorsy (in reality).
Why MMC: Felt at home with the people, a great town, and a strong, tight-knit program.
