Medical School: Tufts University School of Medicine – Maine Track Program
Life/professions/adventures prior to attending medical school: ED scribe, bench research, and ice cream scooper.
Interests / Hobbies: Hiking, nordic skiing, gardening, canoeing with my husband, and just hanging outside
Favorite Food: Tofu bahn mi & spring rolls at Bahn Appetit in Portland
Favorite Novel: When Breath Becomes Air
Favorite TV Show: Parks & Recreation hands down
Favorite Hike: Bald Mountain in Weld, ME
Favorite Ski Trail: Hayburner on a weekday at Sugarloaf
Favorite Beach (doesn’t have to be in Maine): Higgins and Willard
Celebrity I most resemble: Amy Poehler’s energy
Craziest / Best / Worst Job: Best job was being an ED scribe (cliche), and worst was probably hostessing. Being the gateway between hangry people and their table was tough…
If I weren’t a doctor I would be: Most likely a science teacher
Medical Interests: Palliative care, Ultrasound, Women’s Health & Obstetric Emergencies,
Addiction Medicine, and Health Advocacy
Personal Goals: Become a well-rounded, humanistic, and skilled EM physician over the course of the next 3 years while also balancing my life outside of medicine and being a good partner/daughter/friend!
Favorite Place in Maine: I have too many, but Moosehead Lake is pretty special.
Why MMC: This was an easy decision for me. I’m from Maine, did the Maine Track Program at Tufts, rotated through MMC ED, and want to practice in Maine in the future. This program is both incredibly strong and filled with leadership, co-residents, and ED staff who are supportive and forward-thinking. I was so impressed with the level of knowledge and communication skills displayed by every resident when I rotated here, and I can’t think of a better place to spend the next 3 years.
