Life/professions/adventures prior to attending medical school:
My wife, Kyla, and I are proud parents to our son, Jax, and fur baby, Indy. During undergrad I played college lacrosse but an injury ended my career early, so I took advantage of my school's study abroad program and moved to New Zealand for about a year. I spent my gap years working as a medical technician in Guatemala, volunteering as an EMT, earned a Masters of Medical Science, and served as a medical officer in the New Hampshire Army National Guard, and I plan to continue working for the military throughout residency.

Interests / Hobbies:
Crossfit, endurance workouts (I just got my first road bike and tri-bike with hopes of doing an Iron Man!), raising chickens, home renovations/construction.

Favorite Food:
22oz Ribeye Steak

Restaurant Recommendation:
Taco Escobar because...TACOS

What book do you recommend to others and why:
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. A fun and adventurous Sci-Fi of a man who wakes up in a space station with no memory, but learns that he is tasked to save the world.

Favorite Hike or Ski trail:
Tongariro Crossing (Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings)

Favorite Beach (doesn’t have to be in Maine):
The little patch of sand at my lake house

Closest brush with a famous person:
Tom Delonge of Blink-182

Craziest / Best / Worst Job:
Best: Summer Camp Counselor
Worst: Toilet cleaner at a computer store (but I never had a job that I was better than)

If I weren’t a doctor I would be:
Summer Camp Counselor

Medical Interests:
POCUS, Wilderness Medicine

Personal Goals:

  1. Be the best Dad

  2. Race an Iron Man

  3. Find my niche in Emergency Medicine

Favorite Place in Maine:
Bar Harbor

Why MMC:
The people! During my away rotation here I felt right at home and was so impressed with the learning opportunities I received from the attendings, residents, and nursing staff. They made me want to be part of the team and give back this community of New Englanders.
